gitkraken looks quite interesting, but you'd need to decide if the free version was sufficient

The Source App you're linking repeatedly does not come close to the set of features provided by either SourceTree or GitKraken.

I finally found the one that can work on all 3 majors platforms and doesn't make my eyes bleed:

open source and free! I'm still finding sourcetree better, but this come very close and I can have the same gui on all platforms.

I am sorry to say I used to love sourcetree and atlassian bitbucket, but the lack of linux tools has made me switch and look for other alternatives and I am planning to entirely migrate all my repositories to another service.
I appreciate the "free" bitbucket remote repositories, but there are alternatives.
I was really hoping to see a linux version of sourcetree popping up one day, and I can't see why it has been such a big deal for Atlassian. Probably most of the Mac version codebase could be easily migrated to linux (excluding UI, but depending on how they addressed it).
There a millions of crossplatform developers that use linux as base development OS.
Cheers

I've been following this thread for many years already. This discussion should have already been over forever ago. It's crystal clear that Atlassian will not give a dang to whatever opinions we may have regarding this.
Throughout the years these discussions have been posted here, a huge plethora of much better GUIs for Git have sprung forth.
I have used Gitkraken - back in the days it was free - SmartGit (pretty good one), and now, Since I'm a Visual Code user, I have been strictly using VSCode's Source Control Plugin, which is, to this day, a big win-win.
Do your research, you'll be happy to find out that there are options out there for Linux, as good as source tree used to be back in the days.

This is exactly what we are evaluating right now. We are a services house and we work on all platforms, and this is really annoying. How is Jira integrate with GitHub? We have many automated scripts to generate reports and billing that we are not ready to port to another platform just yet, this is the only show stopper I could see right now.

Very disappointing from Atlassian to be dismissing Linux users, knowing that a huge number of developers are on Linux.
For a company this size, and for the premium price people for their products on a per-user basis, it seems INSANE that they DON'T WISH to do a Linux version of SourceTree, knowing that many Open Source projects have provided decent Git clients on Linux and FOR FREE.

Hate to say, but I found a GitHub project that people seem to don't know about much yet: https://github.com/gitextensions. It's a .Net application written for Windows, but can run under Mono under Linux. Linux support seems to be unofficial, has the Win95 look on Linux, but to me is good enough as the feature set and interface resembles Soucetree. However I tried it on Mac and the UI is unfortunately blown up under Mono I found myself running it side-by-side with Sourcetree on Windows too due to the minimized problem that appeared in SourceTree 3.0.

sadly this time I have to agree that these online product pushers have a point.
going to have to use it until source tree comes along with a port for linux.

It's a great .NET application so it's probably got serious dependencies on win32.
Linux support would be appreciated, however there are plenty of quality FOSS git clients.

I can agree the ticket is solved:

Move to Gitkraken
Or try GitExtensions for Mono, because they try to find a solution for Linux users, here Ubuntu:

Guys...it no longer matters. SourceTree has been left behind.
Let's move on. So the next time Atlassian deletes this thread topic, let it be.
Now to convince them to link Bitbucket with other tools. If they don't, then GitLab or GitHub, although are more expensive, will get me to switch.

I've yet to find another GIT tool that beats SourceTree.
While Sourcetree is dying and allowing others like GitKraken and GitHub Desktop to catchup none have surpassed yet.

I love SourceTree. GitKracken is not free for commercial use and yet not as capable as SourceTree. Really hope SourceTree will not die and will listen more to growing Linux (and that is really cross platform) community.
I wish someone from Atlassian would take part in this discussion. Make some updates on the topic. Show that you're listening to the users. Explain yourself better.
Just might be SourceTree could be open sourced and made Linux-campatible by the commubity?
