We have templates for incidents on status page like open, update, monitoring, resolved. When we use the template within an open incident it doesn't update the title with the information in the template...it just keeps the title from the template the incident was created using.
I.e when we open an Incident we use the Open template with a title that looks like "OPEN - MAJOR INCIDENT - etc". However we we send resolution comms we want to title to update to read "RESOLVED - MAJOR INCIDENT - etc" automatically without requiring a manual change.
Is there a way to do this?

This is Jesse from the Statuspage support team. Thanks for the question on templates! Templates don't automatically update the title because in most cases, the name of the incident doesn't change, only the status and progress of the incident.
Is there a reason you include the status in the title updates? Is there an automation involved that relies on this or is it more for clarity?

I would also like to know if this is possible. Customers have requested this, and I can see why it would be useful for them. I think it just makes it clearer that the status is updated in the title rather than have to read the body of the email

I'm afraid this is not possible. The templates have static title names and can't be changed dynamically or automatically in this case.
