Missing the "comment" function?

Those new to the Atlassian Community have posted less than three times. Give them a warm welcome!
I've checked several of my cards and it appears I don't have the "comment" ability (attaching a few screenshots here). Any thoughts on why that is, am I missing something?

Best guess is that the Comments feature has been disabled for the board... Try and go to the "..." Menu in the top right of the board and choose Settings
In there check that The Commenting feature is not set to Disabled
