Hi team
I read something that i didnt understand :
If you lock down the page to only certain people/groups the admin(s) will not be able to view the page by default. However, since they are an admin they can grant themselved view permission.
I see that in documentation :
Lien : https://confluence.atlassian.com/conf73/check-who-can-view-a-page-991928383.html
this is right for the space admin but in my instance i see that confluence admin can see the restricted page by default without changing the restrictions . Do you confirm please ? Really i feel ST wrong.
Regards
Karim
Can I confirm how you know the Confluence Admin can see the restricted page without modifying the restrictions?
If you restrict a page to specific users/groups - and the Confluence Admin is not part of those - they should not be able to see the page. But a Confluence Admin can make themselves a Space Admin, and in turn a Space Admin can open up a restricted page from Space Settings.
So whilst a Confluence Admin cannot see the page directly, they can open it if they need to.
See this page, specifically:
Space Admin and System Administrator access to restricted pages
Users with 'Admin' permissions in a space, or users with the System Administrator global permission can remove restrictions from pages, even if the page restriction prevents them from viewing the page. Go to Space Administration > Restricted Pages.
