How to turn off e-mail to users about add-ons?

Today one of our JIRA users received an e-mail from Confluence@our.instance inviting them to use Confluence. As we are currently only just setting up and investigating Confluence, I don't want this type of e-mail to be sent automatically. 

Is this a general setting? Can it be turned off?

Jusst in case anyone is searching the same subject: it is part of the restrictions of the Cloud to not be able to configure in-app notifications. Apparently marketing messages are part of this and can't be turned off...
