We have a project "Bug Tracker" of type "Jira Service Management"
We have another project "Product Development" which is of type "Jira Software"

The problem is we are not able to list the bugs, suggestions created under project "Bug Tracker", on the board of project "Product Development"
Please suggest how this can be achieved

Hi @Atin Kapoor

You can put multiple Projects into one Board, if you're using Company-managed Projects. You just need to edit the filter:

  1. Go to your Board
  2. In the top-right corner, select the breadcrumbs (3-dots icon)
  3. Choose Board Settings
  4. On the next screen, choose General from the left-hand menu
  5. Press the hyperlink Edit Filter Query
  6. Modify your query to include relevant issues from your JSM Project - eg. project = "Bug Tracker" and issuetype = Bug
  7. Save the query, and go back to your board

^ Where the "Bugs" end up will depend on how you've configured your Project - eg.

  • Scrum: They'll be placed in the Backlog until added to a Sprint
  • Kanban: It will be based on whichever Status is set as the Backlog - this can be modified via the Columns menu in Board Settings

---

I'd be cautious putting the "Bugs" on the Jira Software (JSW) Project - unless the internal "Product Development" team are also the ones who would be communicating with the customer.

An alternative option would be...

  • Clone the Bug into the "Product Development" project
  • Link it back to the Bug in the "Bug Tracker" project
  • Send relevant updates back via Automation

hi, you can create or edit a JSW board based on a custom JQL query, including your JSM ticket

please see https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/create-a-board-based-on-filters/

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, Ideally we would like the issue from JSM to appear in the "Backlog" of our JSW project
