Hi JSM community,
I am working on a large project to automate approval field population with our Okta's manager field. I am hoping to get insight if other have had similar projects to this and how you solved it or what you did to make it as close as possible. Below is the scenario:
Thanks for helping discover a solution for this!
Hi @Max Orejola - Welcome to the community!
As Amaresh mentioned in the previous comment, this type of synchronization is currently not supported natively using only Access and OKTA; you will need a workaround, like a third-party app for this.
As another option for your consideration, I would like to recommend our app - "Mindpro Sync - External Fields for Jira," which allows you to perform this synchronization and approvals.
Ps: Full disclaimer, I'm part of the team responsible for this solution.
Have a great day,
Eduardo.

Hi @Max Orejola – I'm the founder of Multiplier.
Atlas does indeed support syncing the manager field from Okta, however it's not yet integrated within JSM approvals.
At the moment, the only way to get managers syncing into the approvers field in JSM is to use a plugin like Multiplier. We have a few customers using this particular workflow, so I'd be happy to chat to you if that's helpful.
