Added users can't see projects on the free plan

Dor Apelbaum September 13, 2023

Hi,

I have a free plan and am just getting started. Once I finished the setup for the boards and wanted to invite members, they get a constant redirect from the invite to Jira and it eventually fails. In addition, if they try to login manually, they get a screen saying they don't have access to any project or issues, but from what I know, in the free plan if someone has access to the product, they are basically a project admin and it shouldn't be an issue. What am I doing wrong? How can I fix it?

Hello @Dor Apelbaum

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

So, it sounds like the users are able to login to Atlassian Cloud but is not able to access a Jira project.

In admin.atlassian.com can you navigate to Directory > Users and check the Status of the user? Is their status Active?

If you drill into the details of one of those users, has the user been assigned a Product Role for the Jira Software product?

Has the user been added to a Group that has been granted Product Access to the Jira Software product? Check the groups to which the user is assigned against the Product Access groups at Products and click the Manage Product link next to the Jira Software product. Is the related group there, and assigned a Product Role?

Hi Trudy,

Thanks for the reply.

the users were marked as invited, but once they clicked on the invite, would get infinite redirections and then finally an error page from Jira.

I checked all the options you suggested before actually writing in the community forum, and it was all as you directed - users had access to the product.

The funny thing is that before sending the invite to the team, I invited my boss and it all worked well he was able to access it easily. When I later did it for the team, it didn't work.

The thing that seemed to have work at least for now, is to resend them the invite. Clicking it again led them to an error page, but then when I sent them the URL to the site, they were able to see it and it all worked out.

I did notice that Jira had a login issue yesterday around the time the team tried logging in, so maybe it had something to do with that?

If the problems were occurring during Atlassian incident concerning logins then that could indeed have been the source behind your issues.
