Auto-close an issue in Jira cloud

How can I auto-close an issue after a certain time in Jira cloud. I don't want to use any plugin or app.

You'll be able to do this using Automation, which is native functionality within Jira.

For example, to find and close Issues with no updates within the last week, the rule might be:

• Trigger: Scheduled
  • Run rule every = 1 days
  • Run a JQL search = check box to TRUE/CHECKED
  • JQL = updated < -7d
• Action: Transition Issue
  • Destination Status = Done
