Automatic email notifications showing the due date

Shashwini Nair March 4, 2023 edited

I'm trying to send out an automatic message displaying the issue due date to a group of people after the issue is Approved by all approvers. But in the email the due date is not being displayed. How to make the due date visible in the email notification? Jira automation.jpg

Hi Shashwini - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Try using {{issue.duedate.longDate}}

Hi @Shashwini Nair -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Adding to John's answer...

Smart values for fields are name, spacing, and case-sensitive, and they may not match the names shown on the screen.  When in doubt of a field's smart value, please try using the information in the how-to article linked below.

Essentially you find an example issue with your field, call the REST API with a browser, and review the results to find your smart value.  This can also help to learn if a field is supported by automation rules.

Kind regards,
Bill
