Automatically create components

Vincent Synan

I have a list of 70+ Components that we want to add to a project. This will enable better reporting as it will give us a clean approach to ringfencing Epics (the Epics will ladder up to the 70+ components).

Is there a way to bulk create the components? Or do I have to create them manually.

Thanks,

Vince

@Vincent Synan as an alternative to @Mark Segall suggestion to use the API, you can also do a CSV import of issues with these Components. So import 70 issues with one new component each. The import will create the components. After that you delete the 70 imported issues, but the components will remain.

Have a nice day!

Hi @Vincent Synan - If you're savvy with API, you could potentially do something with Jira automation using the Send Web Request action.

Here's the API:
