Automation Rule not triggering

Charles Cardwell July 26, 2022

I have created a simple automation to change a field value when the epic contains the value 'Public Site'.

We have created far more complex automations that this before, but I just can't get this to trigger when testing, and we are not getting any errors either.

Here's all the settings, and here is the epic it is associated to.  Should I be using a different value??

Hi @Charles Cardwell

What type of project is this: company-managed or team-managed?

Team-managed projects do not use the Epic Name field, and I believe that the field is being deprecated for company-managed projects this year...although it may still work currently.

Kind regards,
Bill

Agreed - you need to quit using Epic Name and concentrate on the Summary and Epic Name will be going away soon as Bill says.

What is showing in your last image (Epic details) is the Summary field for the Epic, not the Epic Name field. Try changing the automation to look at the Summary field instead.

Is this in a Team Managed project or a Company Managed project?

The Epic Name field is not used in Team Managed projects. In Company Managed projects you would see the Epic Name field displayed on the right in the Details block where Assignee, Priority, Labels, and so on are displayed.
