Automation help

The following automation:

When: Commit created:  rule is run when a commit is created

Status is one of in Progress

Then: Assign the issue to User who triggered the event

And: Transition the tissue to In Progress.

Assign the issue to:  specify user

Select a user: User who triggered the event

It seems the Assignee is blanked out.  We use GitHub, I don't know if the issue is that our devs don't use our company emails in GitHub or if there is another reason?

Hi @Lesa Miller

Short version: I do not believe that is possible yet.

If you wrote the triggering user to the audit log, {{initiator.userName}} I believe you would find it blank.  There is an open suggestion to add user-related fields to DevOps triggers for this use case you asked about: https://codebarrel.atlassian.net/browse/AUT-1997  And here is the related suggestion in the Jira Software backlog which can be watched/voted for: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWCLOUD-21908

Kind regards,
Bill
