I'm trying to add external clients to a Jira project, but they are unable to view the Jira board. I have created their own group and assigned them to a Developer role and they have permission to browse projects, as well as other permissions to create, assign, transition, comment, etc. I have shared the board filter with each of these users as well. However, the user is still unable to see the board. The user is able to see issues, though. I'm also seeing "failed to retrieve product data." Any idea what's going on here and what I need to do to get them access to the board?
Hi @Megan Harrison,
Welcome to Atlassian Community!
In order for those users to see the board you have to assign them a Jira Software license, In the screenshot you included above they only have site access, but not Jira Software.
Thank you, I was hoping there was a way around that because our jira software users group can see all of our projects :( I was hoping I could add them to a new group and just give them access to this one. Looks like I'll have to change that permission around and re-do our permission scheme we use across projects. Thank you for your help!

You could add their group to Product access if the default one gives you access to all projects.

Ah thank you so much! That worked! Now I just need to restrict the access to the team-managed projects and I'll be all set. Appreciate your help, you've saved the day!
