Can I remove user from my project without it affecting their access to other projects

My colleague who previously set up the project and created the Epics and issues has since moved onto another project but keeps getting Jira notifications for any issue updates.

I have changed the Epic details to me (both assignee and reporter) but it keeps defaulting back to my colleague and they continue to receive notifications.

I have also changed the settings to my details for project lead to no avail.

If I go into settings - people, and remove my colleague from this list, will this resolve the issue without it affecting their access to other Jira projects that they are working on?

Hi Lindsay,

Yes, you can do that without it affect your colleague's access to other projects. However, it might not change the notifications - it just depends on how the notification scheme is setup for the project. But remove your colleague from the People section and see what happens for the notifications.

Hi John

Thanks for your response. The notification scheme is set up to receive notifications to the following:

  • All Watchers
  • Current Assignee
  • Project Lead
  • Reporter

we have different reporters and assignees in the project so I won't be able to amend this list because we will still need those other reporters to receive the notifications.
