Can I use the concept of a team if I do not have Advanced Roadmap enabled?

Stahl, Yoav December 20, 2022

Hi

I would like to create teams of my JIRA users within JIRA.

I would like to add filters according to teams of users. I.e. for example I want to search for all epics assigned to a given team.

I do not have advanced roadmap licensed.

1. How do I even define a team of users in this case? is it via the "People\Create team" options?

2. I cannot find any field ("Team" field is locked for me - perhaps because of not having advanced roadmaps?) where I can assign a ticket to a team

3. How will I be able to search based on Team? (suggestions such as "Team[Team]" = does not work for me)

Thank you

Thank you for your answers
I was just wondering was there a way to use the built in People\Teams option from JIRA.

Hey @Stahl, Yoav

I would suggest makinf a custom field called "Teams" - make it a single choice dropdown field to choose from - then you can define all inouts - "team 1" "Team 2" etc. and you can later modify inputs to choose from too.

Then add the Custom Field to all screens of all issues you have in the project and it's done :) You can use the Custom Field to assign tasks to teams, you can use it in filters etc.

Thank you!
But in this solution I am not actually assigning users to teams right? just naming them, right?
Thank you again

Yes, that would be just a naming.

Right

But if you'd want to for example have an automation that if User ABC is set as Assignee the issue field "Teams" is set to "Team A" that is simple with JIRA Automation.
