Hi Folks,
Trying to get things working with the bulk csv issue importer. I can get the issues to import but they all default to 'stories' and not bugs or better one of our custom issue types. I've properly mapped the IssueType column to the IssueType field and when I select 'manual mapping' it will even show bug as the Jira import option. But after importing, I got to the project and there's the issue only it's a story. Which means I have to move them all and redo some of the fields that aren't present in the story that are on the bug.

Hi @Scott Gray
A quick, simple check first - is the field Issue Type on the screen assigned to the create and edit operations in the screen scheme for bugs?
It is there by default when creating individually but it often needs to be added on the screen for bulk creations. I've had this cause issues within the user importer before.

hi Stephen,
I'm looking at the screen schemes, but I don't see which one has the create and edit operations. If it makes a difference, this is a next gen project.

Hi @Scott Gray
The screen layouts for Next Gen are via Project Settings > Issue Types > Bug - but, the above doesn't apply to Next Gen.
I gave this a go in our environment - this is what I did:
^ This uploaded fine with Bugs become bugs in my Next Gen project. Is this how you did it?
You mention they sometimes become stories or another custom issue type - what other issue types do you have?
