Comments with flagged user showing ID instead of User Name

I want to have a filter showing the last comments on tickets so I created a custom field called last comment and populate with automation when a ticket is commented on .  If someone is tagged it shows the user ID rather than the user name which is not helpful.  Can I change this or is this part of the GDPR  'progress'?
