Create issue(s) post-function - Wanting to obtian the key from the new epic i am creating

Hey All,

Im creating an Epic and a story using 2 different Create Issue(s) post-function.  I want to link the epic to a partent link (which i can do) but then i want to link the story to the newly created epic (or to an existing epic if im only creating a story).  Any idea of how I can get the Key of the newly created epic and update the epic link in the newly created story.

Hi @Wally Brabec , welcome to the community.

For this I would suggest stepping away from post functions and look to the built-in automation feature. Automation is pretty straightforward if you have not yet looked at it. There's a library that has some functions worth looking at as a starting point. However to understand the full capabilities I would refer you to the documentation. jira-cloud-automation

i have worked with automation before.  i can try that rout.  thanks for input.
