Create project template

HI all,

We have a question about how to create a project template so that when you want to generate a project in the Cloud instance there are some internal creation options as there is Scrum, Kanban, project management, etc..

We are creating flows, screens, etc to assign it to each template.

Do you know if it is possible to create a project template and add it to this part?

Hi @Jaime Basco and welcome to the Community!

In essence, every project can act as a template - as long as it is a company managed project.

When you create a new project, after selecting an existing template and taking some extra steps, you will end up on the screen where you are expected to enter the key and name of your new project. Right there you can choose to share settings with an existing project:

This offers you a list of existing projects. If you use this option, your new project will effectively share (not copy) the issue type, workflow, field, screen, permission and notification schemes of the selected project, which means a change to the configuration of the source project will automatically be applied to all the other projects as well.

What it does not include, is boards or dashboards linked to the source project. Does have to be configured manually, but that is usually not a huge effort.

I don't think I have explained correctly,
We wanted to know if we can put the template at the start, when you select the project type.
We know that you can share the configuration with another project when you create the new project.

as you seem not to be satisfied with the current answer, let me tell you that we built an app that aims to solve your use case more precisely. Project Templates for Jira

It is not possible to add project templates in the list of Jira native templates. Therefore the app adds it's own global page (top-navigation) under Apps where you can define your own custom project templates based on your custom configurations.

Let me ask from my interest of a Project Template. I need to create a Project Template

• Software Development
• Scrum with 2 Sprints
• 50 Stories per Sprint

Every time I have a project, I create the project and apply that Project Template and all the Sprints and Stories are created and I do not have to repeat the creation of the same Sprints and Stories each time I create a Project.

Can I achieve that with JIRA?
