Hi all,
Can anyone suggest a way I can essentially make my URL a hyperlinked word.
Custom field type is URL. Have tried the rich text field [link] etc. nothing is working.
Thanks,
Siobhan

Hello and hope all is well today.
I think I have an idea of what your trying to do here and I am pretty sure the URL field will not work as you have discovered.
What you could do is possible create a short text field and then use a hyperlink.
You will need to set up the field to use wiki style and use the link option. Otherwise I believe you can use [HyperlinkName|yourURL.com] << this syntax makes a hyperlink for you without the link option in the wiki panel.
What I would do if you want that hyperlink to be in the field all the time by default is to create an automation to place it in there on issue creation.
OR
Go into the field context of the field and set a default value. You can't use the wiki panel in there but I believe you can use markup and or the hyperlink syntax I posed early in this reply.
I hope one of these options helps and let us know if it works for you or not. Best of luck!
Hi Siobhan,
If you are creating the custom field as a URL custom field type, the value in the field must start with https:// and if it does, it should be hyperlinked.
Can you share a screenshot?

Hi John, Thanks so much for the response.
It is indeed hyperlinked ( so is working as the field is intended I suppose)
What we would really need, (as it is used for very long URLs) is the opportunity to use lets say 'Branch link' and have those words hyperlinked out to the end point.
Thanks for your help!

You might try a multiline text field (Paragraph) and change the renderer to Wiki-style. Then see if you can apply the html code there.
