Custom Field ID for cascading list

Jack Tucker

Hi All,

I know how to find the custom field ID usually, however I am trying to see if the cascading options have their own custom ID? I found the ID for the field as a whole and also the option ID's for the first option, are there id's for the second option and if so how do I find them?

Many Thanks

Jack

Hi Jack,

If you are using smart values in an automation rule it will look like this:

To get the value of the parent:{{issue.fields.Cascade.value}}

And for the child:{{issue.fields.Cascade.child.value}}

Hi @Jack Tucker

I locate it from the URL, by editing the sub-option in the cascade field options

You can see it here:

  • ParentOptionId=10123 - primary option ID
  • selectedValue=10124 - sub-option ID

I can't always see the full URL by hovering over the "Edit" hyperlink, so I open the edit link in a new tab.

I assume it's also possible to get from the REST API.
