Custom Progress Bar in Backlog

Is there a way to configure seeing a progress bar like for Epics in a Jira Backlog for a custom field?

The Progress bar shows where there are Child issues on a ticket, so it will show for Epics, Tasks for example. 

Searching using the details you provided, I didn't find any option or feature suggesting this.

Can you please give us more details about how it would help? Do you need the Progress bar for which custom field?

I created a goals field so that all my Epics are linked to a goal we are working on. Would love to see the progress of the goal based on story points just like it shows for the Epic Progress Bar in the Backlog.

I'm afraid there is no option in Jira or add-on that could show a progress bar like that. 

Currently, there is no feature request suggesting this, so please, feel free to raise one on jira.atlassian.com (project JRACLOUD) adding more details about why this feature is important for your environment.
