Customize Kanban Board Columns Colors

Hello, 

Is it possible to customize the colors of the columns on a kanban board? When creating a new column it automatically gives the column a blue header, is there an alternative with admin permissions or are we not allowed to change the color?

I read there was a CSS hack with a google extension but that was unsuccessful.

I did try the steps mentioned in Link-1 but after refreshing, I still saw no color change. I doubled checked the URL (which is the URL of the kanban board for my project) and the CSS settings but saw no results in color change for the column.

Link 2, is helpful in understand why Jira does not allow you to change the color.
