Hi,

I would like see the days in the columns only for the working days(5 days in a week) rather than the complete 30 days of the months if the ticket is there in the column from sep 30 - oct 30. Do we have any option to set up like that ?

Hi @unnikrishnan

If you would rather not purchase an add-on, you could:

  • Add a custom-field to track working days
  • Add an automation rule to compute this, perhaps based upon a scheduler or status change
  • Add the field to your cards, or color-code them using a filter on the field

Please look at this documentation on automation rules to learn more:

https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/automate-your-jira-cloud-processes-and-workflows/

There is also a suggestion to add the option to the "Days in Colunn" count to respect the working/non-working days settings, which you may review and vote for at the linked item below:

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWCLOUD-11847

Best regards,

Bill

Hello @unnikrishnan ,

I am afraid this data is not available as a ready to get report on Jira.

The raw data is available in the history of each Jira issue but you would need to get the data from each Jira issue with a REST call and do the calculation yourself. Not an easy development.

For a ready built solution that offers great flexibility, custom calendars and details, our team at OBSS built Timepiece - Time in Status for Jiraapp. It is available for Jira Server, Cloud and Data Center.

Time in Status allows you to see how much time each issue spent on each status (for example paused status) or assigned to each assignee as well as entry/exit dates for all statuses. You can calculate averages and sums of those durations grouped by issue fields you select. (For example see the average InProgress time per project and per issuetype). You can also combine statuses into consolidated columns to see metrics like AgeCycle TimeLead Time.

The app has Custom Calendar Support which means you can get your reports based on a 24/7 calendar or your custom business calendar. (This is the exact thing that you are looking for)

The app calculates its reports using already existing Jira issue histories so you don't have to modify your workflows and when you install the app, you can get reports on your past issues as well.

Using Time in Status you can:

  • See how much time each issue spent on each status, assignee, user group and also see dates of status transitions.
  • Calculate averages and sums of those durations grouped by issue fields you select. (For example see average InProgress time per project and per issuetype.)
  • Export your data as XLS, XLSX or CSV.
  • Access data via REST API.
  • Visualize data in various chart types.
  • See Time in Status data under each issue in Time in Status tab.

Hi @unnikrishnan

Also, you can consider other apps from the marketplace. One of them Time in status for Jira cloud by SaaSJet. It lets you monitor the time each issue was in each column. Non-working days you can exclude from the calculation using calendars.  Time data you can view in tablet or chart view and set as a widget on Jira Dashboard.

Additionally, this app generates other reports like average time in column, assingnee time, status entered date, transition and status count.

Hope it will help you

Hi @unnikrishnan ,

As far as I know it is not a built-in functionality in Jira.

However you can try Status Time app developed by our team at Bloompeak. Once you enter your working calendar into the app, it takes your working schedule into account too. That is, "In Progress" time of an issue opened on Friday at 5 PM and closed on Monday at 9 AM, will be a few hours rather than 3 days. It has various other reports like assignee time, status entry dates, average/sum reports(eg. average in progress time per project).

Here is the online demo link, you can see it in action and try. Hope it helps.
