Epic still showing on Epic view as 100% complete

Daniel Da Silva June 16, 2022

*edit: We use Jira next-gen project

Epic still showing on Epic view as 100% complete. The expectation is the when the Epic reaches 100% and is set as DONE it does not show in the EPIC view.

We have 2 "Done" status in our workflow "DONE (TESTED, CLOSED)" and "WON'T DO"

The Epic is only shown in the Epic view in the backlog when we have items in the "WONT'T DO" done state.

Please find the image below of the backlog view + epic view

Hi @Daniel Da Silva and welcome to the Community!

There is a big change currently rolling out that is ongoing to change the behaviour of the Epics panel. Pretty soon, Epics will be disappearing from the Epics panel in the backlog when their status is updated to a done category. I can strongly recommend you to read this community article about that change.

In the past (and probably still in your instance), visibility of Epics on the Epics panel was controlled through another (hidden) field Epic status. The way to remove an Epic from the panel was clicking on the small coloured icon next to the Epic name in the panel and selecting Mark as Done from the popup menu:

Hope this helps!

Hi @Walter Buggenhout

We are using Jira Software next-gen we do not have the context menu available to "Mark as Done". The Epic is set as "Done" in the epic issue:
