Hide Boards menu item in a project, or, make Summary the default page

We can't use Boards due to having multiple workflows.   When a user clicks on a project they are taken to Boards by default which doesn't provide any functionality for us.   We would like to change the default page to Summary and hide the menu navigation option to Boards completely.

You can certainly use a board that incorporates multiple workflows. Can you give us a little more information? How many workflows? How many statuses? What is a good example of what you are trying to do?

If you doesn't want the features of a board, you can create the project as a Business category one, not Software. Boards are only available for software projects.
