here is what you do. Move all "Done" issues to "Resolved" then delete the Done status in the workflow editor and make Resolved = done category.
Hi @Velizar_V , well it appears that Atlassian rolled out a change that may have killed the hack-around I suggested here. Here is a thread where I covered this before - Next-gen-workflow-How-to-add-a-second-done-status
Here is an image of my test NG project where I performed this, note the new done is Done2 (not just a rename).
Now what you will see in the above image is that the "Delete status is greyed out. Previously I was able to choose that and select move issues to another existing status (my newly desired done status). Once I performed that action I could then change the category for Done2 to Done. What is a bit humorous is in the help text pop ups...
If you mouse over the Delete status you see "You can't delete this status until there are two or more done statuses." But the +Done icon at the top to add a done status is greyed-out and if you mouse over - "You can only have one Done status for now". DOH!
So, in summary, you are correct! You can (no longer) achieve your goal (AFAIK). At least for now. However, it appears there is potentially immenent good new here as it appears this is being rolled out - JSWCLOUD-17497 now. So keep your fingers crossed that the implementation will allow you to achieve your goals. You might even consider reaching out to Atlassian Support and see if they can move your instance to the top of the list. :-)

Thank you to all, but no answer helps me.
My question is how to change in one column CATEGORY from "Done" to "In progress". Obviously, this is not possible. I need this because as you know the criteria for status DONE, can change during the project. And moving tasks and rubbing columns during the project implementation is not a solution.
Thank you again.

Hi @Velizar_V - Can you provide more information on exactly what you are doing and what you hope to see?

As Nic mentioned, Done has to be the last column on the right for declaring an issue to be resolved and especially how it affects Sprints. Done is considered Done in Jira land.
Just curious, but why would you have Done and Resolved statuses? It sounds like you might need a different status where Done is right now - pending review or final processing or whatever. Then have Done as your last column/status.

@Velizar_V - can you give us an exact scenario of what you are experiencing and what you want it to do?

Done is the last column on the board. You can put whatever status (in whatever status category) you want to done, but you can't change "last column = done"
