How can I bulk upload tasks to Jira?

I created a template and indicate clearly that the Issue Type is 'task' but the items upload as 'story'.  What am I doing wrong? Does Jira only allow the bulk upload of Issue Type 'story' then I would have to bulk change them to Issue Type 'task'?  Please advise.

What was the format of your "template"? Was it CSV, JSON, or something else?

Can you provide an example of an issue or two from the data that you uploaded?

Into what type of project did you upload the data - Business, Software, or Service Management? Did the project already have the Task issue type available within it?

Were you uploading to a Team Managed or a Company Managed project?

Template format is CSV. The project already has the Task Issue type available in it and its a company managed project. We are using agile methodology using Jira to track sprints so I'm guessing Software project type?

Can you provide a sample of your data?

What was the mapping of the columns in your data to fields in Jira? Did you map the column that contained "task" to the Issue Type field?

Did you access the import function from the Issue Search screen, or are you an admin and accessed it from the System Settings > External System Import screen?

In the navigation pane on the left, at the top just below the project name it will say if the project is Business, Software, or Service Management.

At the bottom of the navigation pane it will say if the project is Team Managed or Company Managed.

I did map the column that contained 'task' in the Issue Type field.  I'm an Admin and uploaded using System Settings > External System Import screen. Confirming Software and the Jira instance is company managed.

I copy pasted dummy data and the Task fields in a previous response. I can't find anywhere I can attach the Excel csv file.
