Hi, How can i display the issue type filed/drop down list in the ticket on the right panel as we need to be able to flit the issue type on the ticket after creating it.
i have created a custom issue type as i didn't find a ready made one in the custom fields section and i had associate it with some screens and contexts but it didn't link with the customer request type field in the ticket
Also is there a way to flip the ticket issue type after creating it?
Hi @Samir Moubarak and welcome to the Community!
The simple answer is: you can't.
A bit more context: issue types are a crucial part in the configuration of your project and Jira in general. When you create an issue, the issue type determines what workflow the issue will go through, what custom fields are displayed on screens and how these behave.
As a consequence, when you change an issue type of an existing issue, you also change that linked configuration. That may result in potential data loss (e.g. when certain fields are not available on the new issue type, or if the issue's current status does not exist in the target issue type's workflow).
That does not mean you cannot change an issue's type after creation. But you should do this in a controlled manner, by moving the issue to another type.
To do so, hit the 3 dots button in the top right corner of the issue view, select move from the option list and follow the steps of the wizard:
Hope this helps!
Thank you so much I tried this solution and it worked perfectly!
That's exactly what we needed.
Thanks again!!

If your project is configured with several Issue Types, and those Issue Types share the same workflow, then you can change the Issue Type of an issue after creation by clicking its Issue Type icon, and changing the Issue Type:
