How can i see time estimated vs time logged in Jira report or dashboard gadget?

I want to see a report, can we a dashboard gadget or custom made filter result, that can show the time estimated on any story/epic vs. the time logged.

I do not want to use any new plugins, want to make use of what is already available in Jira.

Currently, I can only see a time log report that is based on Version and that also does not work properly

Hello Sarah,

Thank you for reaching out.

An easy way to see the time spent and Original Estimated time in a single view would be to use the Filter Results gadget, displaying both fields in a list view. These would be the steps:

- First, create a feature with the issues you want to display in the gadget

- Navigate to your dashboard > Add gadget > Add the "Filter results gadget"

- In the gadget edit page, add the Time spent and Original estimate field, together with any other fields you might want to have in the list:

thanks, sounds like a good option.

I was looking for some report that can sort and view results based on specific projects, with this approach I would need to save and use multiple different filters. But this can help as well, I will use it based on needs.

You are welcome, Sarah.

Another tip I can give you is that every Jira Software project has a default filter created to its board, in the name format: filter for 'yourproject' board.

That being said, you can use those filters if you want to restrict each gadget on a specific project, not needing to create new ones.

I use the estimated time and logged time with the following gadgets and usage:

  • Using the WORKLOAD PIE gadget
    1. I create 2 different "Workload Pie" charts gadget on my personal dashboard.
    2. Chart 1 - Original Estimate by Assignee
    3. Current est.jpg
    4. Chart 2 - Current Estimate by Assignee
    5. Current est.jpg Current est.jpg
    6. Compare separately on how much work was estimated vs work remaining.
  • Using the Sprint Burndown gadget

Hello, I was trying to implement part of this solution but, it seems I cannot find anywhere Time spent and Original estimate field in the CREATE FILTER SECTION.

what am I doing wrong?

In the workload pie above, can you tell me how to set date parameters so it only pulls the original by a date range? More so I am running a time spent pie and pulling all time spent for a give project and I have a custom field to use as my statistic which breaks down the info the way I want it.

I was checking to see if you knew of a way to get time spent for a certain timeframe
