How do I display epic ID, not epic summary, in Issue Detail View

Bruce Kozuma May 10, 2018

I've got a case where people are using the issue ID for an epic to name a file they need to find. As such, they'd like the epic ID to display in the Issue Detail View for an Issue, rather than the epic summary. For example, if the project key is MOC, and the epic summary for Issue MOC-12 is QC for Sequencing Project 12, in the Issue Detail View, the Epic field shows "QC for Sequencing Project 12", but they also like to see MOC-12.

How can I do this?

You can only display the Epic Link not the Epic Key or at least I haven't found a way to display the actual Key.

I think you can not do it out of the box. You can do it with the Power Custom Fields plugin. It is a free add-on:

You can create a scripted field, which will return the key of the Epic and add the scripted field to the view issue screen.
