How do i get a issue current status via API

I need to get a issue current status via api, i'm using the endpoint 

"https://paketa.atlassian.net/rest/api/3/search" and a just need to know the current status. To get a issue key i'm using this response to a var issueKey = JSON.parse(response).issues[i].key

I'm trying something like var status = JSON.parse(response)issues[i].status but it does not work

Exactly how is it not working? What value or error message are you getting?

Have you tried dumping the JSON output to find if the Status field is included?

Hi @Trudy Claspill , it brings me a big response. I just need the status name, but when i tried to get this in JSON.parse(response).issues.status.name it returns me a null value
