How to assign active sprint to an issue within the same project for a global rule?

I am using a global rule to assign the active sprint to an issue whenever a specific label is added to the ticket. 

However, I am unable to make the rule assign the right active sprint to the issue. Am I stuck with making multiple rules with different active sprints for each project or is there solution to reference the active sprint of a project that the trigger issue is in?

Actually, there is no direct relationship between an active sprint and a project, so you can not restrict the Sprint to be selected from a specific project. Explaining better, the active sprint parameter of Jira automation does not refer to a specific project, but to a board(s) where it is active and that can return one project or more.

That being said, you can try one of the following approaches to select the specific Sprint you need:

1. Instruct your team to add a specific label for each board you have, so you will be able to select its active Sprint. E.g: Label "Scrum" for the active sprint in the "Scrum board":
   
2. If you are using only a single board for each project, you create a condition based on the project of the issue to achieve it to the correct board. E.g: If Project = scrum, then select the active sprint in the "Scrum board"
3. Considering the same scenario in number 2, you can also create a single project rule for each project you have, just like you mentioned in the description of the question
