I don't have Jira admin permissions from the old cloud (I reckon company managed) so I made a new cloud (team managed) so that we could have full control of the cloud. However we are using Jira since 2018 therefore there are thousands of issues and I don't want to just import 250 projects. Is there a way to bulk import thousands of issues?
Hi @Meg C
Just to confirm, you're moving issues from one Cloud instance to another Cloud instance, not from one Cloud Project type (Company-managed) to another (Team-managed) - is that correct?
---
Given the size of the data set, I'd question first why you can't simply take over the existing Cloud instance? Is there no possibility of being made a Jira Admin there?
---
If you need to migrate 250 Projects, being an Admin is really your best option - as I would either...
There's more to it though to complete a demerger - for example user management, SSO/SAML, licensing, Apps and their data, change management, etc.

For a migration of this size, you might also want to consider engaging a Solution Partner for assistance - check out options in your area from here: https://partnerdirectory.atlassian.com/

Hi Stephen,
The old Jira is a client's Jira account. This client is a large company and have added us to their Jira company-managed team and even made us our own Jira project. They are too busy to assist us with customizing the Jira project (i.e. add new team members, update workflow) so we opted to make our own Jira and then import the old issues into the new Jira. We're only a group of five so we opted for the team-managed version. I'm the admin of the new one.
I guess I would have to contact our client to migrate the issues to our new project since I am not an admin for the old project.

Hi @Meg C
So it's just one Project?
I'd still use the Cloud-to-Cloud migrator - it will bring across the data in the most optimum format.
You could just use a CSV export/import also, but you will lose some key data, such as the issue history.
