I've followed all the steps to add a custom filed above Version to the Advanced Roadmap. The new field shows up in plans just fine. How do I get that new hierarchy field to show in the project board and lower level issues like Epic, Story, Sub-task or Bug cards?
I created the new hierarchy following the instructions: Configure custom hierarchy levels in Advanced Roadmaps | Jira Software Cloud | Atlassian Support
I've tried adding a Parent field but the only one available is Parent link and it is blank. The new custom filed was also added to the issues and shows as blank. Is there an Advanced Roadmap setting for our instance that needs to be set?
John I work with Ann and she added a new issue type to establish the new hierarchy level. She then was trying to get that hierarchy level to display on the lower level issue type screens similar to how the Epic Link field works. She tried adding the Parent field and by creating a new custom field. Is there a way for Jira to recognize that new hierarchy and treat it like it does the EPICs?
Hi Ann,
I am a little confused. Did you add a new custom field? Or a new Issue Type? Hierarchies involve issue types not fields. Therefore, you will not be able to show a hierarchy on an actual card. You should be able to show cards that have that new issue type, but not the hierarchy.

I added a new issue type. It's a bummer that it won't show on an actual card.
