How to enable HTML rendering in the description of custom field in Jira cloud

How can I enable HTML rendering option in the description field in Jira cloud. Basically I am trying to hide comment field from workflow transition screen.

Hi Meer,

I don't think you're able to modify the HTML rendering in cloud. I was going to suggest that you change a property flag for it to remove the ability to comment during that transition, but it appears that the property flags only work on statuses, not transitions.

I don't know what your use case is, but if you can get rid of the transition screen and just remove the comment at a specific status that might help.

Take a look at THIS documentation from Atlassian for more info about properties.

If the transition screen is important though, I'm not aware of anything that can make that happen yet in cloud.

I am unclear how the HTML rendering of the Description field relates to hiding the Comment field on a workflow transition screen. Can you expand on that?

As per this documentation, HTML rendering is not an option for the Description field. The options are Wiki Style and Default Text.

As per this post, it is not possible to hide the Comment field on a transition screen except by removing a user's permissions to add Comments.
