How to lock a field in Jira Cloud?

Hello Team,

I want to lock a field "Reporter" in my Jira cloud instance. It should not be editable by any user during any transition. The field should not be able to edit in the full issue view as well.

I came to Behaviours property of scriptrunner while searching about this, but that doesn't work in cloud instance.

Please provide the solution for the same.

Thanks in advance.

Sneha

Hi @Sneha Kumari ,

you should remove Reporter field form the edit and all the trasition screens associated to your project.

In addition, you can just modify the project permission and delete all user from Modify Reporter Permission. (https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/permissions-for-company-managed-projects/)

Hope this helps,

Fabio

Can we lock a field based on the picklist value of another field. If it is scripting can we do it or is it managed by Jira.

Hi @Sneha Kumari .

If you don't want the Reporter field to be editable, remove it from the edit screen from the issue type that you want.
