Hi,

If we have two tasks that start the same date and have the same assignee, Is there a way to automate one of them moving if the resource is overallocated?

Hi @Sandra Carrillo

Please be informed that the BigPicture team is intensively working on implementing new features that will support resource leveling. I enclose a link to a story that directly refers to a mechanism that automatically will stretch overlapping tasks to avoid resource overallocation.

You can follow the feature request ticket: ONE-2669. Please note that it is best to open it in the incognito tab of your browser.

Hi @Sandra Carrillo

The Plugin that you are using only can give the data on how the resource is allocated with work.

Before the assignee gets overloaded, you can make sure to have automation to assign the user with tasks based on the balanced workload algorithm which is provided in Jira Automation.

In this case, you need to manually change the assignee who is not overloaded or has fewer tasks being assigned.

You can leverage Automation to change the assignee if the issue is not updated for more than a day with Jira Automation!!

Let me know how you want to take the approach, I would be able assist with Automation!!

Thanks,
Pramodh

Hi,

Thanks for your answer! We are aware Jira automation ability to assign a user for a task using the workload balance algorithm. But we need that the workload balance is distributed based on capacity left (hours) instead of numbers of issues.

Do you know if this is possible using bigpicture o another native functionality of Jira?

Thanks!
