How to move an Epic and its tasks/subtasks from one Next Gen project to another Next Gen project all at once (in one move).
I am searching and the results I find are for Classic.
I tried moving an Epic from one Next Gen project P1 to another Next Gen project P2 and it left behind the tasks/subtasks. It is very tedious to have to do it one by one for each epic + each of its tasks, and each of its subtasks.
also what I found out, it loses the information of some fields when I moved the task individually. although the same fields exist as well in the receiving project tasks/subtasks.
essentially I have an ACTUAL-START-DATE & ACTUAL-DONE-DATE fields in the tasks/subtasks in both Next Gen projects (P1, P2).
to the developers of Jira, would it not have been simpler for you to code the solution to just swap the project names? i.e as part of the move to just point the current epics/tasks/subtasks to the "receiving" project same as they do in Freedcamp? You are making it more complicated the way you are currently doing the move, and your current approach does not appear to work properly.
I have exactly the same problem. I want to move done epics with subtasks to a archive project to make the ongoing project more clean. The subtasks did disapear for me when I moved the parent epic.
thank you for confirming that you too are experiencing the same problem. I was using it for the same reason as you. It looks like the move is not working properly. It is actually losing information when moving it.
It would be better for them not to release something that is not working than to release something that is losing our information.
