How to remove helper text from migrated fields?

Hi,

In December we migrated our Jira Server instance to Jira Cloud.

With the migration process, all the form fields, custom, and system, started displaying a helper text with the date of the migration. I can edit the description of custom fields to remove this helper text, but I can't find how to do it for the system fields.

Screenshot of the problem below:

These messages have no value at all and just make the form busier.

Hi Carlos,

I assume this text was made by the Atlassian Cloud migration assistant. A similar topic was addressed here. You will need to edit the Field Configuration.

I pressed the cog in the top right corner and selected "Issues" to get to the Admin section. From there I selected "Field configurations" in the Fields section of the left hand menu.

I had an item called "Default Field Configuration (migrated) which had Field Configuration Schemes associated with it. I clicked "Configure" against this (not Edit).

The next screen listed lots of fields, some of which showed the "Migrated on XXXX" text. I found I could edit this text and remove the unwanted characters.

Yes, this was added during the migration using JCMA.

Thanks for pointing out that this can be removed in the Field Configuration, I didn't remember that the descriptions could also be changed there.

Is there any automated way to do this?

@Carlos Henriques
For custom fields, you can remove it from Field configuration section

Hi, actually there's  only way to remove it using the database call.

But we have a process to remove those, created by me in our organization.

If required, we can connect over linkedin to remove those migrated on from Notification  scheme, workflows, workflows schemes, custom field, field config, etc.

We did that and it took 1 hour than actual 2 days of manual work by 2 persons.

I don't see the point of adding the "Migrated on" to each field description! We are evaluating migrating numerous large projects to Jira Cloud. Manually edit the description of EACH field for EACH field configuration will be EXTREMELY time consuming!

Surely there must be another way? Or a way to prevent JCMA from adding it the field descriptions?

I agree. We have 48 pages of fields with the migrated note. We need a way top remove those in bulk!

Actually we can. We have developed a in-house app for the same. If required, we can connect over LinkedIn to help you with the data.
