If you are new to the team how can you explore Jira to get up to speed?

So, I just joined a company that uses Jira for software development and I'm assigned a project to work on and being told to explore Jira to familiarise myself with what's going on on the project.

I would appreciate it if I can find a guide or steps that I can follow to accomplish the goal.
