Is it possible to add issues from a thirdparty system to JIRA cloud by using an API?

We are using an third party testing system, I would like to put the issues we found directly, or by batch processing, in JIRA CLOUD.

Is this possible, i suppose we need to use an API!

Has JIRA an API for this goal and can I use this for free and are there specifications for using this API?

Yes, Jira Cloud does have a REST API:
