This Client has lots of projects of scale (16 projects) running through this Jira instance. Currently they have one custom issue type. They are concerned with creating more issue types. Is there an upper limit to the number of issue types that jira cloud can support?
It's far larger than the number at which your people will be yelling "there's too many issue types, stop it!" at you!
I would not worry about a technical limit, but I would definitely engage with your users to see what types they could and should be sharing, and keeping a lid on the number. My main Jira is not curated well and has hundreds, mostly pointless or near duplicates. (they won't let me be an admin because I'd clean it properly, down to about 40 last time I looked)
