Is there a way to edit a Field Query set by an owner that is "Inactive" and can't be found?

Jamie Jones May 13, 2022

I am trying to edit a Field Query in an existing Storyboard, that is "owned" by User that is no longer with the Co, and is marked as "Inactive".

I cannot reassign ownership of the filter because the user can no longer be found in the system.

Is there another way to edit the Field Query without rebuilding the entire storyboard?

Hi @Jamie Jones

If you're a Jira Admin, you should be able to manage all filters here:

I can see the filter, and I can edit it for a one-off search, but I cannot re-assign the owner, or permanently change the storyboard field query, as that owner is listed as "Inactive", and I get a response of:

"Looks like we’re off the beaten track

We landed here for a user that does not exist.
Head back to the directory to search for another user."

Looks like I can Manage filters for other "active" users, tho...

so I don't think the issue is Admin Level.

I see... Are you able to simply copy the filter and change the board to use the filter copy?  From there you should be able to just delete the old filter.
