JIRA In Progress Issue Status also shows as DONE

The team used the default JIRA workflow and we are using SCRUM. We have the following columns in our scrum board. See attached.

However the In Progress status also shows Done and has a cross to indicate it is complete. See screenshot.

Could anyone advise how can we resolve this?

Hi Bosky - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

It looks like the transition to In Progress is setting the Resolution field. Check the transition to that status in your Workflow to see if that is happening. You can also check the history for that issue to see if that field is getting set and who/what is doing it.

Thanks you @John Funk - I was able to fix this but only new issues in my board are behaving correctly. The existing issues on my active sprint still shows marked as done even though they might be in Progress...

You would probably have to clear out the Resolution field. ScriptRunner has a script to do that if you have that add-on.

Otherwise, you would have to create a transaction on the In Progress status that loops back to itself and then put a post function on the new transition to clear the Resolution field. Then run the issues through that transition. And then delete the transition. Messy but it works.
