JIRA import wizard

Hi,

I would like to update existing Jira tasks via import. On the whole it works as expected.

Example:

I import an issue that has changed in due date.

Yes, due date changes properly.

But all attachments and comments (that have not experienced any change) are imported again, i.e. they are duplicated.

How can  this be prevented, resp. what is the sense of it?

Did you leave off any fields/columns that you do not wish to update?

Thanks for your reply,

I have to import really a lot of issues. Therefore I cannot leave off any fields/columns because any of them could be affected by a change.

My guess is, please excuse my amateurish way to describe it, that import in this case just means to copy contents into Jira, but there is no logic behind it that would check, if existent content is different to imported content. That would explain why attachments and comments are duplicated.

Am I correct with this?
