JIRA upgrade does not start due to expired license.

Rex Core April 10, 2018

I installed the new license in the suggested file found in

log/atlassian-jira.log, restarted and I get the same error.

Your current JIRA Software license doesn't allow you to upgrade to this version of JIRA (7.8.2).

...

You can enter your new license here (/secure/ConfirmNewInstallationWithOldLicense!default.jspa).

Is there any method to recover this new installation w/o rolling back to the previous version to update the license?

Thanks for any suggestions!

Rex

Rex,

You should be able to shut down the upgraded instance of JIRA and update the DB if the link is not working.  Instructions here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/how-to-get-and-update-jira-license-string-from-the-database-441746313.html?_ga=2.228942108.1822687758.1523403549-857499681.1523403549  After you update the DB you should be able to start it up and it should be fine.

Thank you, Brant!

I saw that this afternoon but was hesitant to try it on our MySQL DB.

I'll test it tomorrow.

Thanks again,
Rex
