JQL Convert StartofMOnth() to Month Name

Would like to create a JQL, that would find the issues within a fixVersion that is named for the current month release.  

     fixVersion ~ startOfMonth() 

   or 

     fixVersion ~ Now(format(dd/MMM/yy))

The naming convention of the fixVersion is "dd/MMM/yyyy Release" e.g"01/OCT/2023 Release"
 

I would like to use this query for a filter to surface the results to a dashboard gadget, so that the dashboard would only show the issue related to the current month's release.

First of all, I don't think you can do that with fixVersion. As per documentation, fix version can be compared with a string and not with a function, which returns a date field.

What you could possibly do is to parse the fixVersion name and only the date part, copy it to a custom date field and then use that date field with the startOfMonth() function. It could work.
