Jira workflow - Diffrence between Unassigned Types and Other types

Hi, community,

This might sound silly but I'm puzzled and can't find an explanation.

I recently amended the workflow in a few projects and selected all the issues (Epic, Story, Spike, Bug etc.) as well as the Unassigned types.

Can you please explain the main difference?

The main difference has to do with your issue type scheme. If you add a new issue type to your project it will use the workflow that is set to unassigned types, instead of a workflow that is assigned to a specific type.
